As a very general rule of thumb, each device in your network will need an average of ten sensors to monitor it. This depends on what is being monitored and what information you need, but it's a reliable metric to roughly calculate the number of sensors to implement in PRTG. And the number of sensors has a direct impact on how you will deploy PRTG.
